Can we reverse a sweep payment

  • The day that the payment is made, the agent will have the ability to delete or change the payment on the sweep/billing screen.
  • Agencies should never front money for their insured. If any agency is requesting that we refund a sweep because they have not received the payment from the insured; we will NOT refund them. They need to contact their insured. 
  • If an agent intended to pay with the insured’s payment information, but accidentally processed a sweep payment; you will email Requestpay@stateauto.com to have the sweep payment reversed and credited back.  Be sure to include the following:  agency code, policy number, date and amount.  
  • Note the account on Exceed after. 

Note:  If a refund has been issued from the agency sweep, we will not reverse the sweep payment.  Agent must collect from the insured.
